How Drama Republic uses cookies
Whenever you use this website, information may be collected through the use of cookies and similar technologies. Drama Republic’s website has been built using WordPress as the underlying system. WordPress is a content management system (CMS) used to create websites, blogs, mailing lists, and more. It powers approximately 40% of all websites on the internet and so it is a very common management system.

WordPress Cookies
The default version of WordPress generates session cookies (being essential cookies used for the smooth functioning of the website) and comment cookies (being non-essential cookies used to create personalized experiences).
Given that Drama Republic’s website is powered by WordPress, session cookies are activated once a visitor logs in to the website. Session cookies record the personalised settings of both user and admin portions of the Drama Republic site. Comment cookies get generated when a user decides to fill out the contact email sheet on the website. These cookies enable WordPress to store the user’s username and email address so that we are able to respond to the user as contact request.
The website designer has also added in some additional “plugins” to bring a wider variety of cookies into play to further enhance the users experience on the website (e.g. to embed content from video service providers).
Our website contains the following cookies:
1. Session cookies – enabling the function of the site (eg page navigation);
2. Preference cookies – to enable the site to remember information that changes the websites looks or behaves (eg preferred language/ region);
3. Statistics cookies – to help us understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting information anonymously;
4. Marketing cookies – to help us track and collect information on visitors across the site and to connect to third party material which appear on the site (e.g. connecting to embedded YouTube material).
A user cannot entirely opt-out of “strictly necessary” cookies, such as those used for logging in or keeping a user logged in, however the user can opt out of all the other non-essential cookies via the Cookiebot app which automatically appears when a user vists the site.
