Doctor Foster now in South Korea, France, Russia and India
As of October 2020, the award winning, hit series Doctor Foster has been re-made in South Korea, France, Russia, and India. Second seasons have been commissioned in India and France, and in South Korea, the series is the nation’s highest-rated drama in cable TV history. Other international versions are forthcoming.
The original Doctor Foster, written by Mike Bartlett and produced by Drama Republic for BBC One, starred Suranne Jones as the title character and Bertie Carvel as her husband. Jones won a BAFTA for Best Leading Actress for her performance. Each reformatted series has stayed largely faithful to the plot of the original series, following a woman’s suspicion that her husband is having an affair, which quickly unravels her previously picture-perfect life.
